Sandtray play therapy case study to communication between ADHD child and mother and child's problem behavior

Abstract
This study aimed at examining whether sandtray play therapy improves a problem behavior and a communication in the mother-child dyad. The subject of this study was a dyad consisting of a single mother and her elementary school children the city of D. The program was conducted once a week, for 10 sessions, each 50 minutes long. The results are as follows. Firstly, the sand tray play therapy enhanced the communication in the mother-child dyad. Secondly, the sand tray play therapy changed the problem behavior of ADHD. Though this study is a single case experimental research, which might have limitations in generalizing, it can be seen that sand tray play therapy works effectively on enhancing problem behavior of ADHD and communication in the mother-child dyad.
